Katarina Cosplay Final Part and AN12

Hi everyone!

This is the final part of my cosplay progress post for Katarina as well as some pics of the full costume from Anime North 2012!

These were what my finished swords looked like. I drew the designs on with permanent marker.

The final outcome of Akali cosplay

So….when i first started on my weapons, I was so excited! Here’s a recap of what i did:

1) Tracing the stencil

2) Carving the stencil using foam board

 

3) Spray foaming the weapons

4) carved the spray foam to shape the weapon but I ended up shaving a bit too much… After, I had some help from Boss_Emily while I was away on vacation and she paper mached the weapons for me

 

5) Waiting for it to dry…

6) This was the final outcome of Nurse Akali…Didn’t turn out as I expected though. Had to use cloth to wrap it around so that it could hold the top. We used a bit too much paper mache and it got heavy. Looking forward to next year’s Anime convention!
