So, if any have you noticed I have been MIA on glamorous gamer girls. I apologize to my followers. I was in the process of moving and hadn’t realized how much time moving actually takes. Everything has now been sorted and I’m glad to say that I will be returning to my Friday posts.
For my boyfriend’s birthday we celebrated his belated birthday by attending his favourite band, Muse. They were simply amazing! If you’re into Muse and have a chance to see them I will have to say that you will be attending one of the most outstanding performances you could ever experience.
This was the beginning shot of their concert. We were to the left of the band at the very top venue at the Toronto ACC Center
Slowly a screens of TVs descended from the ceiling forming a pyramid
The pyramid changed from multiple colours: red, orange, blue
The pyramid ascended into the ceiling and the band emerged from under it, rocking out!
The audience request for an encore by lighting their phones. The band belted out their final performance, Survival from their latest album The 2nd Law
This was their opening performance of the night, Supremacy from their latest album The 2nd Law
Muse were electrifying! Sometimes I felt like I was watching a music video. It felt almost surreal. The fans were head banging, air guitaring, and bass pumping to the music and I was doing the same! My second favourite concert I’ve ever been to.
2. Apply a dot of clear top coat at the top of the thumb, forefinger, and pinky nail
3. Dip dotting tool in clear top coat to pick up the top of the gems
4. Press gems onto still wet clear top coat
5. Apply two coats of clear top coat over gems and nails
6. With Sally Hansen’s Chrome silver and bent detail nail art brush paint the floral detail design on middle and ring finger: outline the stems of the flowers then add the petals
Here’s a little spring time nail design. Kinda reminds me of that scene in Beauty and the Beast where Belle is singing as she watches the dandelion float into the sunset sky lol. I’m lame
1. Apply clear top coat as base coat
2. Paint two layers of base nail colour (Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow)
3. On a cosmetic sponge, apply a layer of the base colour (Mellow Yellow)
4. While base colour is still wet, apply a layer of second nail colour (Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Mauve It)
5. Dab sponge onto nails multiple times until nail is completely covered to create a gradient effect
6. Nail art brush bent detail
7. Using black nail polish and nail art brush bent detail paint a slight curve and paint at the top of the curve a horizontal stud on the thumb and ring finger
8. With white nail polish paint short streaks at the top of the stem and across the fore finger and middle finger
Last month, I completed a game called I Am Alive on PS3 but it can also be purchased for PC and Xbox 360. This purchase was only $15 on Playstation Network.
This game is a survival-horror based genre and is simply an RPG gameplay with no online interaction.
The game begins with the unnamed protagonist entering the fictional city called Haventon a year after “The Event” occurred. The event is not explained within this game but it is understood that natural devastation has ruined all of earth and the earth’s population is under threat of starvation, illness, and injury. The protagonist has returned to the city of Haventon to find his wife and daughter.
I will not include much detail as I wouldn’t want to spoil anything for those who wish to play.
The protagonist will come across other survivors which most are considered a threat. The player may have to choose his battles at first as he’s unequipped with weapons but soon the hero will have to make the choice of kill or be killed.
What I really liked about the combat interaction is how realistic the situation would be if our world was in a natural disaster. The character will always have a machete at hand when first obtaining one but bullets are found scarce which is fairly realistic for a time of destruction. What I also found appealing is that your character may have to lure the villain closer seeming harmless but then having to attack the villain in close combat as it may be smarter to conserve the bullets you have. I found that it is very difficult to not die in this game… at least when you’re first playing it.
The hero will have to travel throughout the city to find his family but does come across a child which he mistakes as his own daughter. He then seeks out to assist the child and then is sent out to acquire resources and supplies.
The hero will have to climb buildings and pipes. What was realistic was how much stamina it takes for the hero to jump from one pipe to the other and how hanging off a building still decreases stamina quickly.
The protagonist then further assists the child and others to find a rescue ship.
Overall: 7.9/10
I did enjoy this game and I do look forward to the sequel but the game was too short and there are a few things that need to be enhanced or changed:
Sensitivity: the controls are fairly simple but the sensitivity of the controls are sometimes ridiculous! While climbing if I want to go in one direction it is very easy for the character to not cooperate. The hero would simply go in the wrong direction.
Saving: when in normal mode the game will not allow you to save at any point that you want to in the game. I found that when I’ve completed an area and after turning off the game, when wishing to continue from the last point I have to restart the whole mission.
Freewill: throughout the game the character won’t be able to climb or jump onto things when the player wants to. The character is very restricted in that sense.
Overall though, I find this game has an interesting concept and the idea is very realistic.
So, I’ve been experimenting with the chocolate covered cake balls I’ve been making. I was hoping to design them differently but I was pressed for time and haven’t perfected them. So, here’s my cupcake shaped cake balls.
This is a plastic cupcake moulding I purchased from Bulk Barn
Pour melted chocolate wafers into bottom half of cupcake mould
Allow to cool but not completely
Place cake balls (this is red velvet cake flavour) into each moulding while chocolate is semi-hard. To know how to make cake balls refer to my earlier post: Homemade Chocolate Cover Balls
Let chocolate completely cool in refrigerator
Slowly push out of the chocolate covered cake balls out of the moulding
In the top half of the moulding pour a different colour of melted candy wafers (I simply uses white chocolate wafers. You can also put sprinkles onto the moulding before pouring chocolate)
While semi-cooled place bottom half of cupcake cake ball onto top half of cupcake moulding
So, in the month of February and early March I had five different birthdays to attend so to match the theme I decided to paint cupcakes on my nails.
1. Paint about half of the nail with the base colour of the cupcake
2. Once base colour is dry, apply glitter polish
3. With a medium-sized dotting tool and white nail polish dot the top of the base colour horizontally
4. To better paint the top of cupcake, lightly dot white dots to form an outline of the icing
5. Fill in the dots with white nail polish
6. With a mini-sized dotting tool and multiple polishes paint dots all over the white
7. With a medium-sized dotting tool dot a red dot on the top of the cupcake for the cherry
8. With a mini-sized dotting tool dot a white spot to the side of the cherry
For the middle and ring finger I added caviar pearls:
1. Apply Ciate Pom Pom 084 as the base coat
2. While still wet pour caviar pearls Ciate Candyshop above nail
3. Gently press onto pearls to secure pearls
Once the pearls started to come off I replaced them with purple based cupcakes!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and happy belated birthday to my two nieces Ana and Cayla, my sister Liza, my nephew Matthew, and to the love of my life!

I know we’ve done cake pops in earlier posts done by myself and boss-emily and I can assure you this post is very similar to those posts just without the sticks and when I had done it last I hadn’t made them from scratch so I would like to share my new experience with you, readers
1. Bake cake and once cooled cut into quarters
2. Take each quarter and crumble each piece by rubbing them against each other into fine crumbs. Be sure to crumble any large pieces. Repeat throughout all quarters
3. Mix together icing and cake crumbs. Spoon in icing in small doses so as to not over moisturize the crumbs
4. Continue to mix together until crumbs are fairly lumpy
5. Hand shape cake lumps into balls
6. Melt chocolate wafers of your choice in a double boiler or in a metal bowl above a pot of heated water
7. Place balls into chocolate and cover completely with using a spoon
8. Place each coated ball onto wax paper
9. If you wish to not decorate leave balls to cool and enjoy!
Decorating
Here are two simple decorating methods with left over sugar crystals I had and excess chocolate.
Sugar coating: while balls are still wet, sprinkle sugar crystals onto centre of balls
Chocolate drizzle: when balls are dry with a spoon streak melted chocolate above each ball
My coworkers and family seemed to enjoy them a lot! I think it has a lot to do with the icing and chocolate lol
Here’s a nail design I had for Valentine’s day. I know I’m late but hey, they still look cute <3
1. Apply clear top coat on naked nails
2. As a base coat, I used Sally Hansen’s Petal Pusher. If you use this colour I would recommend three layers
Applying fabric
3. Cut a strip of fabric long enough to match the length of the nail
4. Along bottom of the nail, brush on nail glue or clear top coat
5. Press on fabric along the glue/top coat and cut off any excess fabric
Optional: what I find irritating with fabric on nails is the fact that the fabric can easily be removed when wet so, you can apply a layer of clear top coat over the nail and fabric.
Heart design
6. On the ring finger, dot four larger dots close to the middle of the finger
7. Apply smaller dots to outline the heart
8. Connect the dots together to create the design
9. Middle finger, apply clear top coat onto bottom of pearl and press onto nail
10. Apply two layers of clear top coat on fabric and pearl
Here’s my tutorial on nail decorations with floral designs and mini caviar pearls.
Nail Art Tools
1. Medium-sized dotting tool
2. Bent detail brush
3. No. 2 nail art brush
Base Colour
1. Apply clear base coat
2. I used Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away for the base coat of the forefinger, middle finger, and pinky and Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dry Mauve It for the thumb. Later I had changed my mind for my ring finger and used Ciate Mini Fit for a Queen polish.
Floral Design
1. Using Mauve It and No. 2 nail art brush as the base of the flowers. Paint irregular circles along the nail.
2. Using Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear Magenta and a bent detail brush apply squiggly lines to outline the lines of the flowers.
3. Using a bent detail brush and Wet n Wild SaGreena the Teenage Witch apply two leafs per flower.
4. Repeat this design on middle ring.
Caviar Nails (follow instructions)
1. Apply Ciate Mini Fit for a Queen onto ring finger
2. While polish is wet, sprinkle Ciate Mini caviar pearls – hologram onto nail above the provided tray.
3. Once fully covered, gently press and compact caviar pearls into nail bed to ensure durability.
Polka Dot Nail
1. With medium-sized dotting tool apply white nail polish onto thumb
Here’s the end result!
Here’s my second floral nail design. I think I like this one better Hope you enjoyed it!
