Bug? at Blade & Soul – part 6

17 Jun

Hello GGG Readers!

Here are some bugs that I found at B&S.

스크린샷_130613_002

^ Party members are labelled as blue dots in mini-maps, and league members are labelled as green dots. My friend said “brb” and he just appeared in front of me… but in mini-map, he wasn’t. (Fact: the white arrow is me)

스크린샷_130614_000^ While doing story quest (yellow ones), I clicked on this huge pot to gather? or pour? I forgot what I was doing… but right after, the evil lady 진서연 Su-yeon Jin appears and puts a magic lock on me… And, there I am… at a wall… sitting weird… another bug, perhaps?

Further note, I was gonna post about some NPC who represents few celebrities and k-drama characters…. but I figured not… assuming a lot of readers for GGG aren’t Korean fanatics? Let me know, I’ll post next week if there are any.

p.s. The new game The Last of Us is out… for only PS3 which sucks… It’s a realistic zombie game because you get to fight with other human beings… I mean, if you think about it… that could happen when people panic. Went to EB Games today, and saw the game was made from Sony… and figured that’s the reason why it was only available in PS3. Hope it comes out for PC since I don’t own any console.

p.s.s. My friend is selling Xbox 360 Elite for $200 (I think that includes about 14 games). If anyone’s interested, leave comments in the below!

Game of Yut 윷놀이

1 Apr

Hello GGG Readers!

Happy Easter & April Fool’s Day! Did you guys eat eggs and/or fooled anyone yet? I havent -_-;

Remember the time I went to Algonquin? Refer to my previous post here.

One of my friend lost horribly from monopoly during our trip to Algonquin. So, he wanted ‘payback’. He suggested 윷놀이 (Game of Yut) which is a Korean traditional game that includes a map, four sticks and horse for your team to run around the map.

윷 윷판

We used coins, and played per team because there was a lot of people.

You basically throw the four sticks, and depending on how they land (facing up or down), you can move your horse (coins for us) to reach the finish line. And, when the other team lands on you, you’re out of the map and has to start from the beginning. You have 4 horses per team so there’s some strategy either keep going with your first horse or using the next horse. Whoever gets all 4 horses out of the map first wins.

This game is usually played on the holidays such as Lunar New Year and/or Harvest Festival. Learn more about Harvest Festival here!

There was four teams, and the loser paid for our pizza… My team was second so YAY!

Bowling on Sunday

24 Dec

Hello GGG Readers!

Christmas is near, are you guys excited? My family doesn’t really ‘celebrate’ Christmas per se, maybe family dinner. But, I think we even skipped that last year. We get lazier every year. So, my plan is to go to a movie with a friend and drink at her house.

Anyways, I just came back from bowling so this post is up-to-date.

bowling bowling2 bowling3

Since I don’t like putting original names on the scoreboard, I tweaked it a little.

Bbang means zero (also can be bread) in Korean, which I named for this girl who said she’s really bad at bowling. Surprisingly, she did good.

Poktanju means mixed alcohol drinks, which I named for this guy who drinks almost everyday.

Anipang is a mobile game name whom I named after a girl whose name is Annie.

Heuk Hyung means a coloured person (yes, black) who is older than us. Don’t think of it as racist, because it was named after an Asian chick. I don’t know why, but she just wanted to be named like that but she ended up changing it to rice. She actually eats a lot of rice, almost like ninjabunni3s because I’ve seen her eat 4 bowls of rice and I heard she ate 7 bowls once in one meal!

Jebi means swallow bird in Korean, which represents me because we did a play once and I acted out as swallow and people call me that sometimes.

Bean pole was named after this guy who always wear bean pole clothes.

Silver dragon came from the meaning of her Korean name. If you say word by word, then it means silver dragon. (This explanation might be confusing to some people, it’s a bit complicated… it’s a Korean thing lol)

And, rich girl came from the play because she acted out as a rich girl in the play.

The bowling price was $7.99 including shoe rental, unlimited play from 9pm to midnight. But we got there after 10pm.

There were more of us, because we took like 5 lanes.

We played two rounds, and silver dragon won with 231 score altogether while the rest of us got 130+

DIY: Homemade Sushi

28 Sep

Hey guys! These couple of days, my mom and I have been making sushi for dinner and I wanted to share how we prepared it. Here are some of the steps we took:

1.  For sushi making, the rice must be mixed with vinegar to help ensure that it sticks together and doesn’t break apart. I mixed my rice with this Korean vinegar that I got from a nearby Korean supermarket. I also seasoned the vinegar with a little sugar and salt.  Add this vinegar mixture in small amounts and just enough to your liking. **Note: Prepare the vinegar separately in small bowl before adding to the rice.

2.  Some of the ingredients that I prepared before hand:

  • Egg Sheets: I made them about 1/2 inch thick. I cut some of it in strips for sushi rolls and some into rectangular pieces for Tamago (egg sushi).
  • Surf Clams:  You can purchase these in about any supermarket in the frozen section like so. After quickly defrosting, they are ready to eat.
  • Salmon: We bought the salmon from a local supermarket and put it in the freezer for at least 48 hours to kill any parasites. We deboned the fish as we cut it. You may also purchase salmon ready without bones, but it may be more expensive. (I will demonstrate how I cut the salmon another time)
  • Squid Sashimi: I bought already prepared squid sashimi from a nearby Korean supermarket. They were sold in a pack and rolled up. All I had to do was let it defrost and cut the rolls into rectangular strips for squid sashimi sushi. (Clear, white coloured sushi in the first photo)

Top left: Egg strips and rectangular pieces.
Top right: Surf clams
Bottom: Raw salmon

3.  I prepared the sashimi sushi with the help of this rice molder. It helped to keep the rice together and achieve the general shape of what I needed. After using the mold, I still altered it a bit by making the rice pieces more narrow to compliment the size of the fish pieces. I also cut strips of seaweed from the large seaweed roll papers to use it to wrap around the sushi afterwards. **Note: If your seaweed strip does not close properly at the ends, use the cooked rice to make it stick together.

Around: Salmon, egg, squid sashimi sushi.
Center: Surf clams and Tobikko rolls (fish eggs on top).
**Note: The green fish eggs are wasabi flavoured.

4.  For the sushi rolls, I included: imitation crab meat, avacado, celery, cucumber and salmon.

Many people eat their sushi with soy sauce, but I wanted to share with you my new favourite sauce. This is a Korean hot pepper paste that is used to dip your sashimi in, but I use it with sushi as well. I love it! You can get this at a Korean supermarket as well.

Now, it’s ready to eat. Bon appetit! :D ….or should I say…itadakimasu! LOL

Korean Harvest Festival

16 Sep

Hello GGG Readers!

This weekend is the Korean Harvest Festival at Mel Lastman Square. Korean Harvest is like Thanksgiving holiday in Korea called Choo-suk 추석.  It’s actually between September 29th to October 1st this year. It’s different every year because it follows the moon year.  It’s a 3-day holiday, too bad it’s on the weekend so a lot of Koreans are raging because they don’t get extra days off at work or school.

Here’s the facebook event: http://www.facebook.com/events/273864396047119/

The events include singing contest, k-pop performances, etc. on the stage. There are food booths with korean street food with beer, soju, and rice wine (mak-gul-ri).

Happy Choo-suk Everyone!

To the beautiful you 아름다운 그대에게 Hana-Kimi 花ざかりの君たちへ

31 Aug

Hello GGG Readers!

Lately, I haven’t played much game. Though, I did figure out how to use Xsplit to stream live on Justin.TV/Twitch.TV

So, I’ll upload some play whenever I get a chance.

What have I been doing, then? The answer is K-drama LOL

If you guys knows Hana-Kimi, its originated from a Japanese manga. There’s also J-drama and Taiwan-drama too. I’ve only seen J-drama, still need to finish reading the manga.

The K-drama version has been out for a while now (still on-going).

<K-drama>

<J-drama>

<Taiwanese drama>

<Japanese manga>

I, personally, think there’s too many casts from SM Entertainment including the ones who hasn’t debuted yet. I love the cast except for the annoying chick who follows the main guy. And, the story is a lot different which kills the originality.

I don’t know what kind of camera they use, but is it me? The colour’s too beautiful LOL. It looks fake, or has been photoshopped…

All in all, it’s the best drama playing of the week. I watch a lot of dramas… like 7 per week. K-dramas are 1 hour per episode, they play everyday except for Saturday & Sunday because I don’t like the weekend ones after “Dr. Jin

You can stream them here http://www.viki.com/

How to make a Soju Bomb

7 Aug

Over the long weekend, I tried out a new alcoholic beverage called “Soju Bombs”. A Soju Bomb consists of a shot of soju, which is then dropped into a cup of beer.

Soju is a popular, alcoholic drink in Korea. It is traditionally made from rice. In my opinion, the drink itself alone is not that tasty because I find it tastes similar to vodka (except not as strong) and I dislike the taste of vodka. However, as a Soju Bomb, I don’t even notice because the Hite beer washes out the taste of soju.

Hite is the top selling brand of beer in Korea. This along with a shot of Soju goes down quite easily. My friends and I have tried using other brands of beer to mix with the Soju, but I personally preferred Hite because it is more light tasting.

P.S. Beware! Soju bombs are creepers. They hit you pretty hard afterwards. ;)

K-drama

31 May

I’ve been home a week and a bit more. Except I randomly went out to see Men in Black, and yesterday to the mall & starbucks.

So, during my free/bored time I’ve been watching K-dramas. Marathon of Lee Dong-Wook. I saw “Wild Romance” and “Scent of a Woman”

They are a bit old but still good. At the moment, I’m watching “I do, I do”, “I love Lee Tae-Ri (Italy)”, “Queen’s Men(?) 인현왕후의 남자”.

FYI, korean dramas are about one-hour long (commercial free). They play twice a week except for daily ones. Most of the time, they have 16-20 episodes. So, time well wasted I guess lol.

KKK – Kinky Korean Kitchen

3 May

We had cooking day at my friend’s house.

That’s the video to sum up our day.

After, we went out to get popeyes because it was Tuesday special.

We got 18 pieces, finished it all.

Also, ate egg tarts for dessert >_< We nommed so much that day.
