Steam (free) game – Warframe

Hello GGG Readers!

I know I haven’t been playing “games” lately… But, recently I’ve been chatting with my friend on Steam since he doesn’t do any of SNS (social network service) such as Facebook, etc. This is the friend who I played Tera with (you can read about my Tera post here and here). Seriously, I haven’t played Tera ever since I made the second blog about it… because I’m stuck at this level whether I need to party with people to kill bosses or do other quests easier. I don’t really party with random people… I did before but it’s not as fun as partying with your friends.

Anyways, as I was chatting with my friend on Steam… since we both had L4D2, we were playing that… (I have a blog post about L4D2 as well in here)

Then, we found this free game called Warframe. You need to make an account on their website as well additionally but whatever, it’s free lol

 

There’s three classes you can choose from. Mine carries two guns (primary and secondary) with a sword. Sword is for close-up battles.

Basically, you go to planets to do missions… It’s futuristic looking, kind of reminds me of Tron but not really? Hrm.

There is dullness in colour contrast wise, but movement and action wise it reminded me of Crysis. I did few missions with my friends; to be honest, I liked left4dead more than Warframe. Maybe, it’s because of the colour or different types of zombies that appears… or I just like killing zombies, don’t know lol.

Since it’s free, doesn’t hurt you to try it out… I like or don’t like? I don’t have an opinion yet, it’s just meh for me. I don’t mind playing more.

L4D2 – 007 map

Hello GGG Readers!

Lately, I’ve been playing L4D2 at net cafe (aka. PC bang). To be precise, at Turbo net cafe at Yonge St. & North York Rd. in Toronto. I have a membership there since 2010(?), it’s cheaper rate if you’re a member and if you pre-pay it’s much cheaper.

My friends and I tried the customized map called “007″. It’s challenging since we’re not familiar with the map.

I couldn’t record mine since I played it in net cafe.

Though, when I play home… I can enter to some customized maps. One time, I entered and they were already doing voice-chat and didn’t wanna ruin their teamplay so I left (thought they were friends).

I only tried easy/normal mode, so next time I’ll try at a difficult setting or try new maps. And, hopefully I can record it… or at least print screen some gameplays.

On a side note, am I the only one who plays Diablo3? I’m on my 4th character, just because I wanna try all classes and see what kinda moves they have, etc. Right now, I have everything but Monk.

And, I heard PvP will be available in the next patch. It could be a rumour or maybe not soon enough. I’m in need for better weapons then LOL.

Chuseok/ Mid Autumn Festival

Hello GGG Readers!

September 29th, 30th and October 1st was Mid-Autumn aka. Chuseok (추석) in Korean and aka. 秋夕 in Chinese.

It’s a festival to celebrate well-grown grains & vegetables, etc. In Korea, it’s a 3-day holiday so that means no school or work, but too bad this year it was on the weekend so people were raging.

We mainly eat song-pyun (송편)

It’s rice cake with either honey & sesame seeds, or smashed chestnut inside.

There are lots of other foods too, but our family made beef rib stew and bought song-pyun. It’s hard to make rice cake at home cuz it takes a lot of time.

This is why there was Korean Harvest Festival in Toronto in the previous post that I made. Too bad it doesn’t count as holiday in North America cuz it’s for 3 days!!! LOL

ps. COD:MW3 was free last weekend on Steam, I tried it once. I still think BF3 is better because of bigger maps and more players.

And, I’ve been playing bits of L4D2 lately. The net cafe I go to have maps that my account doesn’t have. Unless, I find those public campaigns with new maps.

Defeating Diablo 3 in Normal Hardcore

Hello Everyone!

As most of you probably are aware League of Legends has been having server issues for the past few days, so I’ve been playing Diablo 3 instead! To be honest I have a feeling my obsession with League of Legends will soon end, along with L4D2 and TF2. I’m getting bored of it and I usually move on to the next game. I am anticipating Guild Wars 2! I enjoyed Diablo 3, but I’m not that crazy about it as much as other games. I don’t find myself eager to get home to play Diablo 3. Most of my friends died in hardcore and gave up to play normal mode instead. I played most of the game alone which is why maybe I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would with multiplayer games.

Before reading the rest of this post, please be aware that there are spoilers!

I’ve been avoiding actual gameplay in Diablo 3 and enjoying the auction house instead. I searched for a couple of items so that I wouldn’t have to worry about playing against Diablo. I spent a lot of money to get some of these items. My biggest spend was my THIEF’S BARRIER (Rare Chest Armor), which I bought for 14,999. I think my best purchase was my CRUSH SPINE (Rare Mace) I bought for  3,000. I love it because it has 123 vitality and poison damage! The rest of my items were half bought and half found. Here were my item stats before I went to fight Diablo:

Here are some screen shots before fighting Diablo, I was scared the entire time, I didn’t look up anything to know where I would fight him or what kind of fight to expect. I was planning to look it up and then I got lazy. I knew I was close when this other angel guy wanted to battle me because I’m human and its all my fault that this is happening. What a jerk…

Apparently Diablo already started taking away the angels powers so I didn’t end up fighting the orange angel.  I’m pretty sure I heard my character say “Tyrael, you can fight even though you’re not an angel”, and he’s like NOPE, you fight him alone human, GOOD LUCK. What a jerk…

It’s all good thought cause I’ve got Templar and he always distracts the enemy :3. Wait, He got stuck in a trap. He’s telling me “I better go ahead without him”. Sure Templar, getting trapped in there was an “accident”. Geeze, what a jerk…

These cowards! Making me fight Diablo alone. I was definitely scared, but at this time I’m really glad I picked Witch Doctor. I imagine that class is the best to defeat bosses because my minions are always distracting them. It’s only once in awhile you actually have to worry about the bosses focusing you.

My Zombie Dogs and Gargantuan (minions) died a few times and my spells for them were still on cool down. I got caught in his cage three times -_-. Near the end I got the hang of dodging the black spots where the cage traps you. I usually don’t panic because I have my Spirit Walk to get away in tight spots, unfortunately you can’t cast spells in the cages. When he comes to pick you up in the cage he took about 1/3 of my life. I have 6343 maximum life so thats about 2,115 dmg. Right after he dropped me I just popped my health potions.

I think about half way through he sent me somewhere else where I’m fighting my own self? I’m not sure I didn’t catch everything he was saying. Too busy thinking I was about to die. There is smoke surrounding you, so you don’t have much vision of when this demon will come out. Once in awhile shadows of my appearance came out, but they weren’t to hard to kill.

After I killed this Demon, I went back to Diablo and I was able to beat him!

I was still worried something would come back up and I would still have to fight. I knew it was over when I saw Diablo being casted down the heavens.

After that Tyrael act’s as if he has accomplished something. I’m pretty sure I was the one who killed Diablo, but sure I’ll watch a the ending cinematic with you in it. I really enjoyed the graphics in the ending cinematic.

Hurrah! I beat Diablo 3 in Normal, Hardcore. I think everyone has already done this a month ago, but I finally was able to do it. I guess you will be fine as long as you have the right items and watch out for the cage when fighting Diablo. To be honest the most trouble I had was when I was fighting the ACT 2 boss. You just don’t have much places to go to regenerate your health. In the end it was easier than I thought. I think people die mostly in the hell or infernal mode. Even then I’m worried about the nightmare mode. We will see!

What happened to Leah at the end? Was she evil in the end? I wasn’t really sure what happened. There seemed to be no connection with her uncle and Leah at the end or was I confused? Oh well..did anyone else think of Urgot from League of Legends when they saw this?

Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Review

Hello Everyone!

This weekend I was lucky to try the prepaid Guild Wars 2 beta weekend (June 8th – June 1oth)! I was pleasantly surprised that I actually enjoyed this game. I probably took 10 minutes making my character, even though I won’t be able to use the character for the actual game. I wanted to try engineer because apparently I get turrets! I’ve always had a thing for turrets because I owned with Engineer in TF2 and have fun using Heimerdinger once in a while.

I have to admit that I had a lot of trouble with the navigation and mechanics of the game. I’m new to PC games and it takes me a while to get use to different game controls. Diablo 3, I learnt pretty quickly but Guild Wars 2 will take me some time getting used to. I’m more familiar with the mechanics of TF2 and L4D2, which is easier in my opinion.

After completing the mission I get to submit a report on the event:

I also tried PVP mode, which I had no idea what I was doing. I just followed people and hit anyone who appeared to be my enemy. Here are the portals to different locations (I started to really like the graphics in this game once I put everything to high resolution):

I started chasing this one person who looked alone, but someone started shooting me from behind:

They didn’t give me any chance to survive. I seemed to have failed getting up so I died:

Overall I had a blast trying out this game. I didn’t play the first one so I am completely new to this. I love that this game is a massive multiplayer game and I’m more attracted to play this game then Diablo 3. I’m still at level 28 in hardcore mode because I’m too scared to proceed my missions and die (and lose my character forever). I’m not into solo or long grinding games such a Skyrim, Diablo 3 or WoW. I hate the dedication you have to put into it. I’m more of a multiplayer gamer. I like games such as TF2, L4D2 and LoL. I’m interested in trying to dedicate my time into Guild Wars 2. I laughed at some parts and I’m able to play without getting too frustrated.  I definitely recommend trying this game!

L4D2 Special Infected Character Concept

Hello Everyone!

Who is ever a big fan of Left 4 Dead 2, must have thought of their own special infected characters at least once! I have a few ideas and decided to illustrate it.

I had trouble picking an original idea, I’ve seen some pretty cool concepts and they all are unique. Mine is a model who has turned into a Pinner. She throws bones at you and you get pinned to something.. At first she throws bones at you reducing your health, and if she hits you twice the next hit she can pin you. Its like a combined Charger and Smoker, in that you get thrown somewhere and you are pinned down. You need another player to help you in order to get out of it.

My illustration definitely needs to improve, but I enjoyed this personal project. Anyways hope you enjoy it! Hope its not too gory
