Anime North 2011: Epic Anime Time

Hello everyone!

I’m finally starting my League of Legends Diana Cosplay, but not far enough to show you anything yet! I wanted to pump you guys up for Anime North 2013, by showing this awesome video that was made at the convention in 2011. We decided to cosplay as our own concept that year. You can see our other past cosplays in this post.

This random guy approached me and ninjabunni3s to act for a short clip he was making and I thought why not XD. So click here for the video! I’m at 0:37, shooting at him! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! I think he is very talent at making videos and in acting as well!

Taipei Pictures

Happy New Year everyone!

Taipei was the last destination of my little Asia trip. We went to a hot springs in Beitou and spent around 3 days in Taipei city site seeing and eating. Lots and lots of eating.

We were all given yukata to wear XD.

Our stay included a very extensive Japanese meal. This was our dinner menu, it’s in Chinese but as you can see, there were tons of courses…

After dinner we went back to the hot springs, but I decided to only soak my feet.

Then we headed off to Taipei after our mid-trip relaxation at the hot springs! Nightmarkets is a MUST at Taipei.

Tons of different kinds of food, snacks, games, and random things to buy.

This was super yummy, it’s deep friend milk!

Can’t leave Asia without getting my nails done…

I decided to get this gel nail set.

Leaving Taipei, we had to stop over in Tokyo, and we were lucky enough to get the Hello Kitty flight!

The plane was so cute, everything was Hello Kitty. I really wanted to take that pillow, but I already had too much stuff to carry =(. My friend took the puke bag as a souvenir though =__=.

That’s it for my Asia trip! I think my favourite part was the hot springs hotel. It was so relaxing and food was really good. We even had a butler to serve our room =O. I definitely wanna go back there again XD.

I’m currently in Seoul on vacation! It’s kinda hard to post from my phone so I’ll just be posing some pictures that I took on my phone for now XD.

Halloween Espeon Cosplay Preview – Wig

As you guys know, for Halloween, Coco and I (and another friend) are cosplaying as different Eevee evolutions. I will be cosplaying as Espeon and I ordered my wig on sujii_jnf on Ebay about 2 weeks ago. The wig arrived last week but I wasn’t able to pick it up until this week. I was really surprised at how fast the delivery was, especially since it was shipped from Korea. I was super happy and tried it on with a potential makeup look for my cosplay.

For this cosplay, I decided to invest a bit more cash into my wig. My last wig for my Katarina cosplay really annoyed me to no end with its constant tangling and looking messy all the time =__=. When I took out the wig, I was really happy to see that the fibers used for this wig is sooooo much nicer than the Katarina wig. I can actually brush through this wig and it looks more real.

The picture on the left is more true to the wig’s real color. The lighting in my condo is really bad for trying to show it’s true color in photos.

I didn’t have purple/lilac contacts when I took these photos, but I’m thinking of getting a pair, should look really nice with the wig XD.

It also came with a simple plastic wig stand, which I was really happy about, cuz I was wondering where I was gonna keep this wig in my condo.

Except the one I got was pink XD.

Ninja wanted to camwhore with me too! She kept meowing at me as I took pictures haha.

Can’t wait till the rest of my costume comes together!

Sushi Couture

Hey guys!

I’m a big fan of sushi and love finding new and awesome places to eat sushi. Sushi Couture is located close to Korea town in Toronto. Although this one isn’t new (I’ve been there quite a number of times), I love going back there because of the quality of the fish and the amount of food you get is pretty worth it for the price haha. I usually find myself not quite full from omakase menus but Sushi Couture manages to fill me up XD.

Most of the stuff they serve in the omakase can be found on their normal a la carte menu, but of course if you add up all the prices, it is cheaper to get the omakase. They also recently raised the prices at the beginning of September. The omakase meal used to be $39/person and is now $49/person =(. The menu is obviously also changed from when it was $39 but I personally don’t feel that it justifies the increase of $10 in price =S.

The meal started off an appetizer plate that consisted of some sort of clam (sorry forgot the type), grilled eggplant, and stuff peppers.

You can let the chef know if you prefer not to eat certain things, for me it was any sort of clams and uni so i had tempura vegetables instead of the clam.

They recommended a special sushi wine to us that we decided to try with our meal. I felt that it complimented the courses pretty well =)

Next up was the sashimi course.

Since I don’t eat uni, I got butter fish instead of uni and ikura.

Next were the sushi courses. We had 4 people in our party so it was 1 piece of sushi for each type. And since I already had butter fish in my sashimi meal, I got an eel sushi instead of butter fish sushi for one of the types.

Then it was the cooked course. The others received a seared scallop with shrimp and mushrooms. Since I had said I didn’t eat clams, the chef thought I don’t eat scallops either so I got miso glazed black cod served on a bed of tempura fried noodles. I do eat scallops but it was nice that I got to try 2 different things since I stole a little bit of my friends’s portions XD.

Next are rolls. I think the number of rolls depends on the size of your party, since we had 4 people, we got 4 rolls. There were 2 normal rolls (ones you can probably find anywhere) and 2 more unique rolls that the chef probably came up with.

The last course is of course dessert. We got green tea cheese cake, it was super yummy =)

Compared to my last review of an omakase restaurant Sushi Kaji, Sushi Couture is definitely more economical and will fill you up more for a cheaper price haha. However, Sushi Couture doesn’t serve the traditional Japanese dishes like Sushi Kaji and there were also more expensive sushi/sashimi served at Sushi Kaji.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking to impress a girl who likes Japanese food =). Compared to many western restaurants, this is pretty well priced and has more of that wow factor that a tasting menu offers when you take someone out to a date .

Hey guys!

Last Saturday, I got a kitten! She’s a pure breed scottish fold with folded ears! Her name is ninja XD

I’ve always wanted a scottish fold because of their cute ears and round faces. They fold down giving them a more puppy dog look. They’re also known to be super affectionate and sometimes are called “dogs in cats’s clothing”.

I got her from a breeder located in Wallaceburg, ON,which was a 4 hour drive from Toronto =S. But after I saw her, I knew she was worth the drive!

This was right after I got her on the way home.

 

Oh yea, forgot to warn you guys that this post will be full of awww-inducing pics! Lol!

She ran around my condo right after we got back and found her new bed, a long lost slipper behind my computer haha.

 

She also loves sleeping in my lap!

 

 

And her new favorite place to chill is in the wine rack =__=

 

I feel like I might become a crazy cat lady >_< haha. But she’s just sooo adorable that I want to share her cuteness with the world XD.

Fan Expo and Riot Graves Skin Contest [CLOSED]

Hey guys!

So last Sunday Coco and I went to check out Fan Expo. It was our first time there and we enjoyed it a lot! There was so much to see though and moving in our costumes slowed us down a lot so we ended up only seeing a bit of the dealers room and the artist area =(. Oh wells, there’s always next year!

We also met a riot employee (Riot Rival) who gave us each a Riot Graves skin. As a special thank you to all our readers and those who got us to 100+ likes on Facebook (YAY!!), I am giving mine away in a contest! Please keep reading to find out how you can win the skin!
